TechWorks Campus

TechWorks Campus is a 30-acre advanced manufacturing, research and development, innovation, education, commercial, and manufacturing center. Located in downtown Waterloo, the campus is comprised of 20 acres of development sites and 300,000 square feet of flex space. It is a place for innovation and development. TechWorks is the first technology park of its kind in Iowa to combine world-class business amenities within a Brownfield industrial redevelopment project.

The 300,000 square feet of existing flex space is divided between two historic John Deere manufacturing buildings.

Tech 1

The Tech 1 building is divided between six floors and is home to the University of Northern Iowa Metal Casting Additive Manufacturing Center and Design Lab, Hawkeye Community College Design Lab, the Iowa Advanced Manufacturing Network Hub, and Cedar Valley Makerspace. Four floors are suitable for light industrial manufacturing space. There are 6 labs available for lease on the 3rd floor.

Tech 2

Tech 2 includes the six-story Courtyard by Marriott Waterloo Cedar Falls hotel, which opened in December 2017. Under construction in the building are a full-service restaurant, full-service lounch, and the John Deere Regional Training Center.

The Green @ TechWorks

The Green@TechWorks is part of the larger 30-acre TechWorks campus. In addition to the Tech 2 and Tech 2 buildings, the campus includes parcels suitable for larger scale manufacturing facilities and two retail lots.

In addition, a new John Deere Tractor & Engine Museum is adjacent to  the west side of the campus.

TechWorks Campus is just steps to the Cedar Valley Recreation Trails, entertainment and museum districts, and a variety of Riverloop District amenities.
